What you put ON your skin is just as important as what you EAT.

                                      What’s in the Label?

PROPYLENE GLYCOL - This is the most common moisture carrying vehicle in use in cosmetics. It's cheap and available. It has also been suspected of causing sensitivity reactions. It in fact absorbs moisture from your skin. Propylene glycol is also used extensively in industry as a component of brake fluids and anti-freeze preparations. It's also used in the production of varnishes.

The BENTONITE MINERAL- in facial masks dries out your skin and forms an impenetrable barrier. This barrier traps toxins, including carbon dioxide, in your skin and keeps oxygen out. If your skin can't breathe, it can't stay healthy.

ALCOHOL, the main ingredient in astringents and several other facial cleansers, makes your face feel cool and refreshed, but it is really damaging your skin. As it cleans, it strips away the natural oils protecting your face. After the skin's surface has been stripped, it takes almost twenty- four hours for it to repair itself. Your face needs moisture to stay healthy and young-looking, not harsh chemicals.

Liquid foundations often contain MINERAL OIL, a substance that suffocates and dries out your face. They usually also have PETROLATUM AND ISOPROPYL MYRISTATE in them. Petrolatum can't be absorbed by the skin and it clogs pores. Isopropyl myristate is a fatty compound that has been shown to clog pores and cause blackheads and pimples also has a more sinister hidden danger. When it comes in contact with either a Di-or Triethanolamine the result is a nitrate compound such as n-nitrosodiethanolamine, a suspected carcinogen. Moisturizers for the face and body are applied over a large portion of the skin and remain there for several hours. This exposure is significant. Many powder foundations have talc and zinc stearate, both of which are carcinogenic (cause cancer). Most blushes contain mineral oil, talc, and zinc stearate.

Alpha Hydroxy Acid
Destroys skin cells and leaves skin more susceptible to damage from the environment and skin cancer. Actually ends up aging skin. Found in anti-aging facial creams and lotions

GLYCERIN, although this ingredient is used in moisturizers to help the cream glide, it is detrimental in that it draws moisture from the skin and holds it on the surface, effectively drying the skin from the inside out.

Benzoic Acid
Inhalation affects nervous system and is moderately toxic by ingestion. Severe eye and skin irritant. Used as a food preservative and in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics

Carboxymethylcellulose
Causes cancer in animals. Used in cosmetics, inhalation could cause chemical pneumonitis.

Ethylacrylate
Found in some mascaras's suspected as a cause of cancer in humans, based on studies of human populations or laboratory animals.

Coal tar: an artificial colouring, found in blushers, eyeliners and mascaras. In sensitive people, may cause nausea, headaches, and is suspected to be responsible for cancer.

Parabens: a preservative, in moisturisers, cream foundations, and eye shadows, toothpaste.

Parabens are oestrogen mimics, thought to increase the risk of breast cancer.

Isopropyl alcohol: a solvent to help colours mix together in lipsticks and cream blushers.  It is linked to neurological damage and may cause the body tissues to be more susceptible to cancer.

Glycolic Acid: Penetration enhancer which alters skin structure, allowing other chemicals to penetrate deeper into the skin, increasing the amounts of other chemicals that reach the bloodstream, skin or sense organs. As a sensitizer it can instigate immune system response that can include itching, burning, scaling, hives, and blistering of skin. Toxicant, neurotoxin, kidney toxicant, gastrointestinal or liver toxicant. Found in creams, lotions, cosmetics.

Hydroxymethylcellulose: Used in cosmetics. Inhalation could cause chemical pneumonitis.

Mineral Oil: A derivative of petroleum, this additive clogs pores, locks in toxins, suffocates and dries skin and inhibits your skins natural oil production further increasing dehydration. Causes testicular tumors in the fetus, deposits accumulate in the lymph nodes and prevent absorption of vitamin A from the intestines. Found in blush, baby oil, lotions, foundation and creams.

Polyethylene Glycol /PEG: Moderately toxic, eye irritant and possible carcinogen. Many glycols produce severe acidosis, central nervous system damage and congestion. Can cause convulsions, mutations, and surface EEG changes. Found in cosmetics, body products, foods, lotions.

Polypropylene: Possible carcinogen. Found in lipstick, mascara, baby soap, eye shadow.

Polyscorbate-60: Used in cosmetics. Inhalation could cause chemical pneumonitis .
